Scunthorpe United is pleased to release details of the brand new third kit that will be worn in competitive action by the team for the first time at the away fixture against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
In recognition of sporting icon, Sir Ian Botham, being appointed as the Iron’s new President, the red home kit worn by the club in the late 70’s and early 80’s was put forward in the supporters vote as an option as a new home kit for the 18/19 season. Although the kit did not win the home kit vote, it received a significant number of votes and positive comments from supporters, with many suggesting they would like to see it as an alternative to the home shirt.
As a result, the red option was confirmed as a third kit for the 2018-19 season and it will be worn in away fixtures where the Iron are unable to wear their yellow and navy away kit, starting with this Saturday’s away fixture against the Dons.
The FBT designed shirt is red with white trim and a white collar, with red shorts and red socks. The shirts will feature our main club partners Rainham Steel on the front, Vanilla.tech on the reverse and Pepperells Solicitors on the shorts.
A limited-edition quantity of 150 shirts will be made available for supporters to purchase from 8.30am on Tuesday morning (September 11th) both from the club shop at Glanford Park as well as online. These will be split across adult sizes from small to 2XL priced at £39.95 as well as in size 8 and size 12 in junior sizes (£34.95)*.
* Please note the shirts are a fitted design and may require a larger size than usual. Due to the limited quantity, supporters are advised to check which size is required as we may not be able to exchange for another size if it is later found to be unsuitable.
