Starting the game last weekend after arriving at the club on January Transfer Deadline Day, the Preston North End loanee spoke to iFollow Iron following his first full week of training.

ON HIS DEBUT AND VICTORY AT FLEETWOOD…
MV: I hadn’t played a game in a long time, so it was nice to get back out there and straight into the team. The game itself, I know I can do a lot better personally, but that will come the longer I am here, the more I can train and the more games that I can play. Hopefully I can kick on from this now. I got a bit tired in the second half, which was due to my lack of game time recently, so that’s why I came off. We’re playing for three points, so I was really pleased we got them in the end.

ON TRAINING AND GETTING UP TO MATCH FITNESS…
MV: There’s still a lot more to come from me. The fitter I feel, the more I will go forward as a full-back. I was maybe a bit more conservative last weekend and hopefully now I can kick on from this. Training has been really good. In the beginning, it was hard because it’s a new group of lads and I needed to get to know them and how they play. This week’s training has gone really well for me and it can only get better from here.

ON HIS HOME DEBUT AND ROTHERHAM UNITED TEST…
MV: I want to play as many games as I can and you want to test yourself against the better teams in the league and on Saturday we’ve got a chance to do that. If you look at the first half that we played last weekend at Fleetwood, I thought we were excellent. If you’re doing well in the league, people will come and watch, so it’s up to us to get the result (in front of a bigger crowd).
