Iron make Christmas Eve visit to 12th Man holders

24 December 2018

Four players and Scunny Bunny made a Christmas Eve visit to a family of season ticket holders after learning of their recent burglary.

Their home was broken into just last week with a number of items taken by the intruders, with club staff working hard at short notice to organise the surprise visit at short notice ahead of Christmas Day.

Club mascot Scunny Bunny and players Funso Ojo, Rory Watson, Lewis Butroid and Levi Sutton all paid a visit to the family following training to deliver some presents to Junior Iron Club member Callum Woods, along with his older brother Kian.

Lee Novak and Lewis Butroid both donated a signed pair of their boots, while goalkeeper Jak Alnwick signed a pair of his gloves. United also sent along other signed merchandise and other gifts.

The players and staff also clubbed together to replace the PlayStation and Xbox controllers which were taken, along with a gift voucher for the family and to provide some festive cheer following a difficult time.
