The Iron will face Wolverhampton Wanderers' Under-21s and Lincoln City at Glanford Park in the Checkatrade Trophy group stages.
Scunthorpe are in Group H in this season's competition and learned their opponents ahead of the start of the season.
For the third successive campaign, United are at home for two out of the three games, hosting Wolves' U21s and the Imps at Glanford Park before travelling to Mansfield Town.
