Match winner Hakeeb Adelakun was proud of the Iron’s performance to record an impressive 2-1 win at Bradford City last night.
The winger netted home a free kick with 20 minutes left and also set up Cameron Burgess’ goal to follow up his three assists at Northampton last weekend.
He spoke about his contribution to the team, his goal and the team’s performance to iFollow Iron after the match.
ON THE 2-1 WIN AT BRADFORD…
HA: It meant so much to us because we know what we needed to do when we came here, which was to get three points. It was a tough game, like it always is when we come here. All the boys were working for that and working together. We needed to stick together and thankfully we got the win.
ON BEATING A FELLOW HIGH-FLYER…
HA: Bradford are always up there so it was good to show that we’ve got good form against these types of teams.

ON HIS FREE KICK STRIKE…
HA: The wall jumped and broke apart, (the ball) slipped through and snuck in, but I’ll take it. I couldn’t see the goalkeeper get a hand on the ball because the wall was blocking me, but I saw the net rustling so I just started celebrating.
ON ADDING ANOTHER ASSIST TO HIS TALLY…
HA: I want to try and help the team as much as I can and as long as I can keep doing that, I will be happy.
ON PLAYING WITH DUANE HOLMES…
HA: Duane’s a close friend on and off the pitch, so I think we have good link-up play. He’s got very good pace and I knew that when I slipped the ball in behind for him at Northampton, he would get onto them. Each player brings something different to the team and something we can use.
ON THE CHARLTON GAME AT THE WEEKEND…
HA: We’re looking forward to the Charlton game. They’re a massive club and doing well this season, but we need to do what we do best and put our game onto them. Then we should come out with the result we want.
