WALLACE FOCUSES ON BRADFORD CLASH

24 March 2017

Defender Murray Wallace is fully focused on taking maximum points from Sunday’s home encounter with Bradford City.

Wallace believes the fixture has all the makings of an intense battle, but he stated a positive outcome is the sole objective.

Speaking to The Iron PlayerHD, Wallace said: “It was a tough game when we played them at their place. They’re a good team, so we’re expecting another tough game.

“If we want to be up at the top end of the table and in around it, these are the teams we need to get results against.

“At the minute we just need to start getting results.”

This weekend’s match-up is expected to draw a bumper crowd to Glanford Park, with Wallace declaring the home support is always crucial.

The Scotsman explained that backing got him and his team-mates over the line in their last home outing with Rochdale, and it’s something he’s looking forward to seeing again.

“Hopefully it’s a packed out stadium, because it’s always good when the fans come along and get right behind us,” Wallace explained.

“We really needed that (against Rochdale) and it was nice to do it at home, where we’ve been so strong this season.

“I’m sure the fans would have appreciated that.”

The Iron head into the clash recharged following a full week of training, which the 24-year-old feels will benefit the group hugely.

“It’s been nice,” he stated.

“The past few weeks have been really packed, it’s just been games and then recovery really.

“With that in mind, it’s been good to have a full week to get some good training in and work on things which we need to work on.

“We’ve had a full week of training, and we’ve recovered right after Oxford - so we’ll be ready to go.”
