United striker Kevin van Veen is raring to go ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
Speaking in an interview with iFollow Iron during the return for pre-season testing, the forward expressed his excitement to get through the pre-season and get started in the league.
ON THE SUMMER BREAK…
KVV: Summer has been great. It has flown by but I'm really happy to be back at Scunthorpe and I can't wait to start.
KVV: It’s been good so far. All of the lads are done with the tests that they need to do. The strikers just need to have a run outside (at the time of speaking) and then that's our first day and on Wednesday we're back in.
ON REUNITING WITH HIS TEAMMATES…
KVV: We almost spend every day with each other, people say they're your family. They're a great bunch of lads. We have new faces in the dressing room but it's a really good squad and I think everyone will fit in very well.
ON THE PRE-SEASON FIXTURES…
KVV: There are a few very nice ones in there, including the training camp in Austria. We went there last year and I thought it was lovely. We have a couple of games there too. Last year, one got called off because of the bad weather but they're good fixtures and I cannot wait to have our first game.
ON THE NEW SIGNINGS…
KVV: I saw three of them and I shook hands with them of course, and introduced myself. They looked like really good lads and I can't wait to work with them.
ON WAITING FOR THE FIRST GAME…
KVV: Obviously, the pre-season for footballers is something you don't really like but something that you really need to do. When you do it, you'll feel great about it. I can't wait until pre-season is over just so that the first competitive game starts. We want to be very good this season.
