The Iron lost their last league fixture against Walsall, but the central defender wants his side, who had won their previous six in League One, to recover as soon as possible.

Ahead of the match, McArdle commented on the Dons, the recent results and how United can get back to winning ways in an interview with iFollow Iron.

ON THE FEELING IN THE SQUAD…
RM: Everyone is confident. At the start of the week it was a little bit flat after the weekend result. It’s important that we don’t dwell on that. Equally, we need to look at what happened and how we can start off better in games and get up to the level of performances that we have shown so far this season.

ON MK DONS…
RM: It will be tough and over recent years they are always expected to be towards the top of the table. They have some quality players, but every game at this level is going to be tough – there are no easy games. They will be coming here with a game plan so we need to try and nullify that, get a foothold in the game and get back to doing the things we are good at.

ON BOUNCING BACK FROM THE RECENT RESULTS…
RM: You’re going to go through the season where you are not going to win every game. We’ve been on a good run from a league point of view as a whole. We want to get back on track and looking to do that as quickly as possible on Saturday.

ON CLEAN SHEETS…
RM: It’s always key. Whenever you keep clean sheets in games it gives you that massive chance to go and get three points. In recent weeks, we’ve been scoring quality goals and in certain games the amount of goals we’ve scored has been high as well. It gives the back four confidence. If we are going to be solid, it gives the forward players a chance to express themselves and create something.

ON THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD…
RM: We need to make sure that we are preparing right and recovering right to give us every opportunity going in to each game. It’s periods like this where lads are going to be rotated around, so it is important that everybody is ready to go.
