Andrew Madley has been appointed as the referee for the Iron’s second round Carabao Cup game away at Championship side Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
The Huddersfield-born official officiated 43 games last season, issuing 146 yellow cards and eight reds.
He was the match official for United’s play-off semi-final first leg game against Millwall, which ended 0-0. Madley handed out five yellow cards during the game.
The assistant referees will be Steven Meredith and Neil Davies, with Anthony Backhouse as the fourth official.
