⏪ Rewind 60 years: 1957-58: August 26th: The reigning Champions of Division Three North

26 August 2017

The Iron got their first win of the campaign in 1957, two days after the opening day draw, by putting four goals past Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park

Ronnie Waldock scored the division's and the Iron's first hat-trick of the campaign as the side recovered to going 1-0 down early on in the game.

Twenty minutes in, though, and United were beginning to get a foot-hold of the encounter and would soon blow their Merseyside counterparts out of the water with clinical football.
