GETTING TO SHREWSBURY TOWN

15 September 2016

Here is a guide for the Iron fans looking to make the trip to Shrewsbury Town this weekend...

Club Details…
Shrewsbury Town Football Club
Greenhous Meadow, Oteley Road, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, SY2 6ST
Mileage: 138 miles

Greenhous Meadow...
Away fans are located in the Pro-Vision CCTC Stand at one end of the ground. Leg room is good and the stands are quite steep, keeping the fans close to the action and there is good height between rows. The concourses are quite well laid out. The catering is provided by a local company called Jennys and includes amongst other things; Burgers (£3.50), Cottage Pie (£3.20), Steak Pie (£3.20), Balti Pie (£3.20), Pasties (£2.70) and Sausage Rolls. The club provides handy plastic forks to tackle those hot pies. Alcohol is also available in the form of Lager (£3.60) and Bitter (£3.40). There are also large plasma screens on the concourses showing Sky Sports throughout the afternoon.

By Car...
The journey to Shrewsbury should take roughly about two and a half hours. Upon leaving Glanford Park, take the first exit at the roundabout by Tesco and then the first exit, onto the M181 at the subsequent roundabout on Doncaster Road. Afterwards, you'll need to use the two right lanes to merge onto the M180 towards Doncaster and take the exit onto the M180 towards Doncaster, then merge onto the M1. At junction 28, take the A38 exit to Derby and then at Pinxton Interchange, take the third exit onto the A38. For the following three roundabouts, you'll need to take the second exit, and after the third, keep right to stay on the A38. There's then a slight right onto the A5148 and then another roundabout which again, you'll need the second exit at. Next, turn left onto the M6 Toll (N) slip road, and then merge onto the M6 Toll. At junction T8, exit onto A460 towards M6 South and then take the third exit at the roundabout to stay on the A460, which you then repeat at the following roundabout. Then, merge onto the M54, before continuing onto the A5. There's then a slight left towards the A5, and then a slight left onto the A5. At Emstrey Island, take the third exit onto Thieves Lane and then turn left, where the stadium will be on the right.

By Train...
There are trains every hour from Scunthorpe, with the journey lasting anything from three-and-a-half to four hours. Full details and price information can be seen here. The railway station is two miles from the stadium. On leaving the railway station proceed to the bus station (300 yards) to travel on the Express Bus Service or Arriva operated services.
