The Iron's U18 side drew 2-2 at Chesterfield on Friday.

The game was played at Clay Cross FC.

United went in front after only one minute when Leslie Sackey got on the end of a free kick.

Chesterfield equalised just before half time though.

The Iron took the lead again midway through the second half when first year midfielder George Hornshaw drilled the ball home from just outside the box.

Chesterfield levelled on 80 minutes from a corner.

United had a good chance to take all three points with 87 minutes on the clock but, as he stretched to get on the end of a cross, George Barmby couldn't quite keep his effort down.

"It was a very good performance from our player," said academy manager Tony Daws.

Iron team: Kelsey, McMichael, Bartholomew, Porter, Lilley, Sackey, Busby, Hornshaw (Barmby, 72), Dean-Atkinson, Allasan (Ablett, 82), Sithole.
Unused substitutes: Riches, Train.
