The Iron are back in action on Tuesday night when they visit SportsDirect.com Park to face Oldham Athletic.
United’s lead at the top of League One was extended on Saturday, with a 2-1 comeback victory over MK Dons at Glanford Park.
Oldham in retrospect, will be looking for a response to their 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Bolton Wanderers.

United manager Graham Alexander says goalkeeper Luke Daniels will miss out on Tuesday night, after he sustained a head injury in Saturday’s win over MK Dons. However he’s optimistic he’ll be in contention in the not too distant future.
He also provided an update on Luke Williams and Jordan Clarke, as they continue their respective recoveries from long-term knocks. The Iron boss said they are both likely to be out for the upcoming fixtures, but he did reveal that Williams is progressing well.
Kyle Wootton’s sweetly struck volley two minutes from time earned a point for the Iron when the two sides last met, in a 1-1 draw back in February of this year.
A tight opening period brought about few opportunities, with Paddy Madden coming the closest with a header which bounced back off the crossbar.
12 minutes from time though, the Latics got themselves ahead. Daniel Lafferty was the man who got it, as he drove the ball into bottom corner of the goal.
There would be late drama however, as Wootton’s late strike earned the hosts a share of the points.

After racking up over 100 appearances for Oldham, Carl Winchester has become a key figure in the Latics’ starting eleven.
Hailing from Northern Ireland, Winchester joined the club from his native Linfield in 2010 and has continued his development ever since.
He’s received international recognition too, with one cap to his name, coming in May of 2011 against Wales.
