SOCIAL MEDIA: FIXTURE RELEASE REACTION

22 June 2016

Here is some of the reaction to the 2016-17 fixture release from Twitter on Wednesday...

Iron striker Paddy Madden was pleased to see his side start their campaign on home soil, after it was announced we'll kick-off the 2016-17 campaign against Bristol Rovers at Glanford Park on Saturday, August 6.

Finally a home game to kick things off, against Bristol Rovers 😁 Now the excitement kicks in #Sufc

Meanwhile, here is how a selection of fans reacted to how the games affected their personal circumstances.

The day all my managers hate .... #FixtureReleaseDay

The annual leave requests have begun! @SUFCOfficial@ironbru_net#uti#iron

https://t.co/5YA88zPsP4 - Only one Northern away game for @SUFCOfficial in all of 2017. Even that's Sheffield United! Pretty handy for me.

Don't miss any good away days in Tokyo, and Wimbledon away is the day after I get back #result@SUFCOfficial

It makes a nice change for @SUFCOfficial to be at home first game of the season we are normally away!

Finally, local journalist Chris Sumpter picked out an interesting statistic related to our season's fate when we've started the campaign with a game at Glanford Park.

Hoping for a home game for #Scunthorpe on opening day of 2016-17. Last three seasons Iron have started at GP, they've won promotion. #stats
