Murray Wallace will be entering his first full season with the Iron this time round.

Having joined the club initially on a loan deal in August of last year and then making his move a permanent one in the January transfer window, the Scot stated the importance of being around the squad from the off.

He hopes with a full pre-season under his belt, both he and his teammates can make a strong start to the campaign.

Wallace told The Iron PlayerHD: “I’m really excited to get started here right from the beginning of pre-season.

“Obviously last season I came a couple of months into the campaign, and we didn’t have the best of starts or the start the squad was capable of. So hopefully we can have that good start this season, and it’s one I’m really excited for.

“I think it’s important I’m here in pre-season. A lot goes on, and the work ethic we all have, means it’s good to be here right from the start, and hopefully when the season comes we’ll be ready as a team.

“It’s always the same, the season finishes and you’re excited to have a bit of a rest, but come the end of the holidays everyone’s itching to get back at it. That’s the way it’s been for me, I’ve been dying to get back and the first few days have been good."

Having spoken about how much potential he feels the squad has at the end of last season, Wallace was quick once again to air his views on how far he believes United can go over the course of the next ten months.

“I spoke about it at the end of last season. Regardless of where we finished, I felt we were building a good run,” he said.

“Because quite often you can carry it on into the following campaign and I firmly believe this squad can do that."
