OUR OPPONENTS: UNION UNIS GSCHWANDT

12 July 2016

The Iron take on Union Unis Gschwandt this evening in their first of two friendlies during their tour in Austria.

The side, who play in the 1st Class league of Upper Austria following their relegation from the Bezirksliga last season, face United at the Wallweg Arena in Gschwandt, kick-off 6.30pm local time (5.30pm UK time).

The side will battle against sides such as Attergau, Gampern and Roithan in the forthcoming campaign in the BTV 1st class south division, which is the seventh tier of Austrian football.

On their official Facebook page, the club have stated it will be Gschwandt's "the hardest pre-season game in the club's history".

Graham Alexander's men have been training in Austria since their arrival on Saturday afternoon and use this fixture as the first of two warm-up games before returning to England next story.

The referee for this evening is Iljmen Kuljici, with his two assistants Slavomir Schelsinger and Christof Kaiblinger.

Following this match, they face FC Liefering on Friday, July 15 (6.30pm kick-off local time).
