IRON GEAR UP FOR COLCHESTER TEST

21 January 2016

Joint caretaker manager Nick Daws says he expects Colchester to provide a tough test when they visit Glanford Park on Saturday.

Daws spoke of the U's' playing style, but despite having an inkling as to how Kevin Keen's side will set up, he still feels the Iron will have to be at their best to win.

"I expect a really tough game against Colchester on Saturday. Kevin Keen's come in, he's very experienced, and has played and coached at the very highest level," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"We have an idea of how they're going to play, and they've been pretty consistent in that over the past couple of weeks."

Daws also drew attention to some of the additions to the Colchester squad, and he feels the experience which has been added to the ranks will only benefit them.

"The thing which they've added is a bit more experience to the team, with Darren Ambrose and Owen Garvan, and Chris Porter has come back into fitness," he said.

"They've lost Callum Harriott back to Charlton, who I assume will be a bit of a loss to them."

In Daws' eyes, Keen's team will provide as tough a test as any in League One. Something which he feels United will have to guard against on Saturday.

"They're like any team in this league. On their day they can turn up and put on a good show, and I think it sums up the league in many ways," he stated.

"I know a lot of managers, when we've spoken after games, have said the same thing. It's started to be stretched away by one or two, but I don't think anyone can take anything for granted anywhere."
