The Iron's development side drew 0-0 at Notts County on Tuesday afternoon.

The home side had the first chance of the afternoon at Meadow Lane on three minutes, when Kyle Da Silva curled a free-kick wide of the top right-hand post.

The same player then drew the first save of the game from Joe Anyon after cutting inside two minutes later.

Iron frontman Kyle Wootton had his side's first chance of the game moments later, hitting the crossbar with a thunderbolt, which bounced back into play.

Jack Dyche then collected the ball and hit a follow-up shot from the left which was brilliantly saved by Scott Loach.

In the 18th minute, Andrew Boyce headed goalwards following a Sean McAllister free kick, but Loach was able to save close to his near post.

Soon after, Notts' Colby Bishop hit a cross into the area first time from the right, with it skimming the top of the net.

There were close shaves at both ends but the first half ended goal-less.

Anyon was forced into a great save on 46 minutes, as County attacked from the left. The low cross found Rutty-Smith. His shot was deflected but the Iron goalkeeper got down low to his right - and close to the post to save and hold the effort.

The Iron drew a great stop from Loach in the 58th minute, as Hakeeb Adelakun's cross was headed goalwards. Dyche changed the direction of the ball two yards out but Loach re-adjusted to save. Boyce fired over the rebound from the right-hand-side of the six-yard box.

In the 61st minute, County's ex-Iron striker Jimmy Spencer hit a first time shot well over the crossbar after the ball fell to him on the edge of the area.

Three minutes later, Boyce drew Loach into another save following a right-winged Adelakun free kick. His powerful header was well held.

With 66 minutes on the clock, trialist Yalany Baio fired over from the edge of the area after good work from McAllister to force the ball through to him.

On 80 minutes, there was a superb save from Anyon as Colby Bishop was fed through on the right side of the area. Anyon got the slightest of touches to push over.

Adelakun came close with four minutes left. He out-skilled two players at once before firing low and across goal, but Loach got down to it.

Anyon made a great save from Da Silva's close range effort, while Adelakun's free-kick in stoppage time was beaten away by Loach as the full time whistle blew.
