BRIGHT, FANTASTIC AND HARD-WORKING

26 February 2016

Manager Nick Daws says the United squad have been working hard, as they aim to get back to winning ways when they take on Oldham Athletic at Glanford Park on Saturday.

United suffered a 2-1 defeat against the Cod Army on Saturday, but Daws revealed the response has been excellent.

"They've been bright, fantastic and working hard. They've been looking to do exactly what we've been asking them to do," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"Between now and the end of the season, they'll certainly train as hard as they've done each week. It's then down to sometimes a little bit of good fortune, a bobble of a ball, a referee decision.

"But ultimately we've got to take all the chance out of it by working hard during the week in terms of our preparation, and make sure we take that into Saturday."

Nick Daws is looking forward to seeing his side pit their wits against Oldham this weekend.

Latics boss John Sheridan is a familiar face to Daws from their playing days, and he was full of admiration for the Oldham manager.

"I know John Sheridan reasonably well. I've played against him and he was better than me. I always had to chase him around to get the ball off him and he didn't really give it away," he said.

"He's really experienced, he's a good guy and a hard-working manager that still deserves to be in a job, because he's been up and down the country to stay in the game.

"I know his team will be ultra-prepared and really resilient at the weekend. We're going to need again, as we have been in all the games, to be at our absolute best to win the game."
