NO FRESH WORRIES AHEAD OF VALE AWAY

25 August 2016

Manager Graham Alexander will have a similar squad at his disposal as the Iron return to league action against Port Vale.

The United boss declared the usual bumps and bruises following Tuesday's game against Bristol City, but will have the same squad fit to face the Valiants at Vale Park.

"We've followed the same procedure as other weeks," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"The boys have been well looked after to make sure everyone is in the best physical shape for preparing the team for Saturday's game. We know how to maximise their physical output and the players have a big responsibility to do the right things at home to recover.

"The rewards are too great to not do it properly."

Speaking about the players on the treatment table, the Scunthorpe gaffer does not expect to welcome back the likes of Paddy Madden, Luke Williams, Sam Mantom or Jamie Ness ahead of the trip to Port Vale, although progress is positive on all counts.

"They're all ticking along nicely really and trying to improve each day," he continued.

"We're trying to slowly push them forward and increase their workload each day in accordance with what the medical team guide us with and hopefully they'll be back sooner rather than later.

"There's no immediate update other than what's been said in the last week to ten days.

"It'll be the same squad we have available on Saturday."

See much more from Graham Alexander, along with Conor Townsend and Luke Daniels who both preview the trip to Port Vale on The Iron PlayerHD.
