TONER HANDED VALE CLASH

29 April 2016

Ben Toner will be referee for the Iron’s home clash with Port Vale at Glanford Park on Saturday.

Toner, who last refereed a United match back in September (the 2-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy loss to Barnsley), has shown 99 yellow and six red cards in the 27 games which he's officiated.

Throughout the 2014-15 season, the Lancashire referee was involved in 23 matches and in those he showed 55 yellow cards, and dismissed three players.

He will be assisted on Saturday by assistant referees Ian Dudley and Nigel Smith, with Wayne Grunnill taking up the role of fourth official.
