THANK YOU SOUTHEND

10 November 2015

Scunthorpe United would like to thank Southend United for their support of the Save Our Steel dedicated fixture on Saturday

Particular thanks goes to the Southend United Travel Zone supporters group who donated the proceeds of their raffle on the coach on the way up to the game, along with a whip around in the pub pre-match, to those affected by the job losses of steelworkers in Scunthorpe. A grand total of £250 was donated by the supporters group and pictured on the pitch at half time are Paul Marshall, Del Reeves and Steve Wolfendale from Travel Zone, alongside mascot Scunny Bunny and the Iron’s Supporter Liaison Officer, Andy Brown, who works on the steelworks.

Southend fans joined Scunthorpe fans in the light display just after half time while 22 mascots walked out with players from both sides, with the children involved all having parents or grandparents affected by the recent news of job losses in Scunthorpe.

A big thank you to everyone at Southend United Football Club for your support of the Scunthorpe United Save Our Steel dedicated fixture and of course to all those from Scunthorpe who took part.
