United have made two changes heading into their Emirates FA Cup first round clash against Southend United.

With on-loan defender Murray Wallace returning to parent club Huddersfield, Charlie Goode steps in at centre-back.

Making his first start since the opening day of the season, Luke Williams slots in for Tommy Rowe, who is ineligible.

Elsewhere, Kevin van Veen replaces the injured Tom Hopper up front.

Scunthorpe United: Daniels, Wiseman, Mirfin, Goode, Laird, King, Bishop, McSheffrey, Williams, Madden, van Veen.
Substitutes: Anyon, Clarke, Boyce, McAllister, Adelakun, Dyche, Henderson.

Southend United: Bentley, O’Neill, Bolger, Prosser, Coker, Leonard, Rea, Timlin, McLaughlin, Pigott, Weston.
