HENDERSON: WE'RE FOCUSED ON OURSELVES

27 November 2015

Iron striker Darius Henderson feels the 2-1 victory at Bury was massive.

Henderson highlighted the manner of the victory was also very pleasing, and he hopes the positive energy can be taken into Saturday's clash with Peterborough.

"Looking at the performance, I think it was a massive three points. I thought Bury were very good and had us on the back foot for most of the game," he told The Iron PlayerHD.

"I think for Willo (Luke Williams) to score such a great goal at the end was very pleasing, and hopefully we can take that into Saturday."

The United frontman's start against the Shakers was his second in as many games, and having completed his first 90 minutes in a lengthy period of time, Henderson is hoping he can kick on.

"It's a start. I think it's my first 90 minutes for a long time. My body feels good and hopefully I can push for another start on Saturday," he said.

Despite coming out on top against Bury, Henderson insists back-to-back victories are a must if United are to push up the League One table.

With Peterborough being the visitors to Glanford Park on Saturday, he does admit it will be a real challenge to do such.

However, he did also state the Iron must focus on their own game.

He added: "Back-to-back wins in this league will certainly push you up the table, like in any other league I suppose.

"We've proved that when we had the run of wins in October, which got us out of a bit of trouble from a poor start. So hopefully we can make it back-to-back wins and push forward.

"Like every other opponent, it's going to be tough. But fundamentally we have to concentrate on ourselves, and if we do that then we'll have a good chance."
