Scunthorpe United are delighted to announce they have reached agreement with Prostate Cancer UK to wear their logo on the front of their home and away shirts for the 2015/16 season.Iron Chief Executive Officer James Rodwell stated: "These are exciting times at Glanford Park with a new stadium on the horizon and the prospect of a successful season on the pitch so we wanted to do something special to recognise this.
"We are delighted Prostate Cancer UK have agreed to work with us to promote the cause and raise some much needed funds to help battle what is a killer disease.
"It would be amiss of me if I didn’t take this opportunity to thank Rainham Steel, who have been our excellent sponsors these last nine years and who we look forward to working with again in the future."
Mark Bishop, Prostate Cancer UK Director of Fundraising, said: "One man dies of prostate cancer every hour in the UK. Faced with this unacceptable fact, the partnership with Scunthorpe United FC is a fantastic chance to boost awareness of the disease and net thousands of pounds to help more men survive it in the future. The club has already got behind the cause, backing the London to Amsterdam cycle challenge and raising vital funds through Scunny Bunny's Marathon efforts.
“This passion has been inspired by Peter Swann’s recognition of how massive a danger prostate cancer is for men, and the injustice that it has been sidelined in the past. It’s cracking news that Peter, the club and the fans are keen to join forces to tackle this head on.
