IRON 23/10 UNDERDOGS TO BEAT SHEFF UTD

13 March 2015

United are 23/10 underdogs to get back to winning ways in their League One fixture against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

Sky Bet, the sponsors of the Football League, have made the Blades 6/5 favourites and have priced a draw at the same price as an Iron win, 23/10.

Sheffield United sit in 5th place in the League One table but are coming into Saturday’s game on the back of two home defeats, 2-1 defeats against Fleetwood Town and Peterborough United.

Mark Robins’ Iron side are 17th in the table and are also looking to get back to winning ways following last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra.

The last two League meetings between the two sides that have taken place at Glanford Park both finished with a 1-1 score line. The last League meeting at Glanford Park was in September 2012 when the Blades’ Neil Collins cancelled out Leon Clarke’s opener. Sky Bet are offering the price of 9/2 for a repeat score on Saturday whilst Leon Clarke’s namesake, Jordan, is 28/1 to open the scoring.

In the Iron’s last home match, a 1-1 draw with Yeovil, Hakeeb Adelakun got on the scoresheet. The youngster is 3/1 to score at anytime against Sheffield United and is also a tempting 9/1 to score the first or last goal of the game.

Sky Bet are offering some match specials for this League One fixture. Scunthorpe to score two or more first half goals is 9/1, whilst the away side are 6/1. The Iron are 17/2 to score in the opening ten minutes of the match, whilst the Blades are 13/2.

With Scunthorpe looking to get back to winning ways and playing in front of their supporters at Glanford Park, the 23/10 bet for Mark Robins’ side to come out on top on Saturday may turn out to be the bet of the weekend.
