SCUNNY BUNNY TRIUMPHS IN LOCAL RACE

10 June 2015

United’s mascot Scunny Bunny triumphed in a local Mascot Race on Sunday.

Scunny Bunny – AKA Glyn Sparks – ran a much shorter distance that he is usually accustomed to, putting his running shoes on to take part in the race at Uncle Henry’s Farm Shop, Butchery and Café, located just outside Kirton in Lindsey on the B1205.

The establishment ran the event in support of Brigg Rotary Club and Grayingham Church between 10am and 4pm. Open Farm Sunday is one of the farming industry’s biggest success stories. Since the first Open Farm Sunday in 2006, over 1,000 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed people onto their farm for one Sunday each year.

This year was no different, with the day a resounding success – and the Iron’s mascot taking a personal accolade, winning the mascot race – just one of the many features of the Open Day.
