The Iron ran their annual Golf Day at Forest Pines Hotel and Golf Resort on Monday, July 6.
The day, which saw eight teams - along with many more groups just of players - compete for the accolade to come first, saw each feature at least one player – and despite the weather conditions interchanging – the event was another resounding success.
Around five hours of golf, negotiating around two of the courses of nine holes, was succeeded by an evening three-course meal and presentation ceremony, which saw the winners of the competition crowned.
Most commonly in the bunker on the day was the trio of Paddy Madden, Jack King and Andrew Boyce – with some of the best shots coming from the Iron contingent – although they were outplayed by the sponsors and supporters on the whole.
It was Dave Syers and his group consisting of Mr A. Lanford, Mr S. Wright and Mr K. Stanham emerged victorious in the evening presentations - with an impressive 96 points overall.
The club would like to thank the sponsors and supporters for taking part in another successful event, as we look forward to many more of these in the future.
