IRON 11/4 TO SEE OFF MK DONS

26 January 2015

The Iron are underdogs to come out victorious in Tuesday evening’s League One clash against Karl Robinson’s MK Dons.

The Dons are currently third in the table, three points behind league leaders Swindon. SkyBet are offering odds of 11/4 for Scunthorpe to beat them at Glanford Park, while the visitors are favourites at 10/11. If you were to bet on the tie to finish a draw you would receive odds of 12/5.

The MK Army have not conceded in their past two fixtures, yet the Iron have scored in eleven of their last thirteen games, forcing the bookmakers to shorten the odds of both teams to score. The chances of this happening are rated at 8/15, with the odds of both teams not to score at 11/8.

Paddy Madden is United’s most likely scorer, according to SkyBet. The Irishman, who is Scunthorpe’s top scorer this season with 12 goals, is 6/1 to break the deadlock. However, MK Dons’ Will Grigg is the favourite at 5/1.

Football League sponsors Sky Bet offer odds of 11/4 for Mark Robins’ side to be winning at half time and 11/1 for them to win both halves. It is just over evens for there to be under three goals in the match and 4/6 vice-versa. Meanwhile, United are 4/5 to win with a handicap of +1.

Scunthorpe’s odds of achieving a place in the playoffs have widened slightly since the defeat to Bristol City, but recent form means SkyBet still recognise United as outsiders at 14/1.

You would double your money if you were to bet successfully on the Iron finishing in the top half of the League One table. Finally, the club are 40/1 of achieving a back-to-back promotion to the Championship.
