Iron boss Mark Robins had ‘no qualms’ with the 2-0 defeat at Preston, citing a busy schedule catching up with his side as partly to blame for a first defeat in nine away league games.“We didn’t play the way we’re used to playing,” Robins told The Iron Player.
“We’ve done really, really well of late and managed games well – today was different.
“Having said that, the amount of games we’ve played, we played on Tuesday night and we’ve had Saturday-Tuesday games for a while now.”
“There’s always going to be a time when that catches up to you. This was the day when it caught up with us.
“We’ll get a recovery into us now and get ready for Tuesday night. I’ve got no qualms with the result. They did more than us in terms of winning the game.
“Having said that, we had decent opportunities with clear cut chances. Had we taken those, the game could have been different.”
