The club have issued the following statement...
Scunthorpe United Football Club, its directors and Mr and Mrs Swann and their family are pleased to announce that they have recently settled a dispute with Mr David Green following material considered to be libellous, which Mr Green had posted online at various locations. Scunthorpe United Football Club and Mrs and Mrs Swann, represented by London based law firm Pinder Reaux Solicitors and barrister David Hirst of 5RB, agreed to accept an apology, and undertaking from Mr Green and in turn not to pursue him for financial damages.
Mr Swann was quoted as saying: “This was a situation the Club, me and my family were dragged into. We did not ask for this, but we certainly did not wish to stand by and allow unilateral attacks on our reputations to go unanswered.”
