PLAYERS VISIT 12TH MAN HOLDER IN HOSPITAL

20 August 2015

Sean McAllister and Scott Wiseman visited life-long supporter Bobby Smithson this week as he recovers in hospital following a stroke.

The two Iron players journeyed to Goole hospital, where Bobby is currently recovering after being forced to miss the team’s first games of the season. They went armed with a card, signed by the whole squad and a match DVD from United’s 2-0 home victory over Crewe Alexandra so he could catch up on what he had missed at Glanford Park.

On seeing the two players, Bobby’s wife Jean said: “It was like Bobby taking three bottles of medicine for the two players to come along and see him.”

We continue to wish Bobby all the best in his recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to Glanford Park very soon.
