HARSLEY TO JOIN BIRMINGHAM CITY

26 August 2015

Scunthorpe United can announce professional development coach Paul Harsley will be leaving the club towards the end of September to take up a new role at Birmingham City.

Paul goes with our best wishes and appreciation for his efforts during two separate spells at the club.

He originally joined the Iron as a player and was with us between 1997 and 2001, making 128 appearances and scoring five times.

Paul then returned as a coach for the club’s academy in January 2011 and has made a positive impact, earning the chance to work with the Football Association during his spell with United, and helping several young talents make the breakthrough into the first team squad.

Academy manager Tony Daws said: “I would like to thank Paul for all his efforts while at the club, he has been a fantastic asset to the academy, and we wish him well for the future.”

Scunthorpe United now actively start the process of looking for a suitable candidate to help the Iron’s academy thrive further.
