Iron boss Mark Robins says he's delighted that striker Paddy Madden has signed a new three year deal with the club.

Madden put pen to paper on the new deal on Thursday afternoon and manager Robins says it's great to get everything wrapped up so quickly.

"I'm absolutely delighted that we've managed to get this resolved as quickly as we have done," he told

"All credit to the chairman and to Paddy for signing his contract and committing the next three years of career with to us."

Robins says that Madden has been a delight to work with and that he has seen an improvement in the Irishman's game.

The striker has bagged seven goals over the course of pre-season and Robins feels that this form will continue into the new campaign.

"I can see there's an improvement in his game technically and I know that he'll carry the form he's shown in pre-season into the new campaign," he said.

"I'm looking forward to working with him for the next three years, he's been a pleasure to work with since I came in last October.

"We'll look forward to a successful 2015/2016 season."
