Scunthorpe United would like to thank all the people who helped clear the pitch of water during Saturday's home clash against Gillingham.
The first half was halted by a delay of more than 25 minutes after a torrential downpour left the playing surface waterlogged and the match in jeopardy.Thankfully, numerous volunteers went on the pitch to clear the water and, after the referee inspected it, play resumed as United picked up a vital 2-1 home win which secured our League One safety.
