SUTTON OFFERED PROFESSIONAL DEAL

23 April 2015

The Iron are delighted to announce youth team player Levi Sutton has been offered a professional deal with the club.

Sutton joins striker Kyle Wootton as a professional after he was offered a deal earlier on in the campaign, with the midfielder being handed a one year deal for the 2015-16 season, with a further year’s option in the club’s favour.

He has been a prominent player in the club’s reserve league campaign this term, skippering the side more often than not and proving to be a good prospect in the heart of United’s midfield.

Sutton’s only goal of the season came in a 3-2 defeat to Hull City Reserves at North Ferriby United – on an occasion when he didn’t don the armband. That was handed to fellow youth team graduate Hakeeb Adelakun for the game, with both of the mentioned players netting.

The midfielder will be the only other addition to Mark Robins’ squad from the youth team for the new season, with the club wishing to place on record their thanks for the hard work and endeavour of the other second year scholars, some of whom have been with the club for a number of years.

All at Scunthorpe United Football Club would like to congratulate Levi on his professional contract and wish the rest of the departing youth team all the best for the future.
