Tuesday night will see the Iron entertain Coventry City at Glanford Park, a fixture that has seen some very entertaining clashes over the last few years.

The clubs have played each other on 21 occasions in all competitions, with the Iron winning four of those, Coventry winning five and there being three draws.

The last of those was on 9th March 2013, where the Iron lost 2-1 to the Sky Blues at Glanford Park.

In that game, striker Akpo Sodje gave the Iron an early lead in the eighth minute but a goal just before half time from Carl Baker and a late winner from ex-Iron striker Leon Clarke saw City take the points.

The Iron managed to come away with a point from the Ricoh Arena during the 2007/2008 season, despite the disadvantage of finishing the game with only nine men

United keeper Joe Murphy brought Jay Tabb down early in the second half for a penalty and was sent off as a result, with Kevin Doyle scoring the resulting spot kick to give Coventry the lead.
However, a low drive from the Iron’s Jack Cork levelled the match with just over twenty minutes to go and despite Kelly Youga also being sent off for a second yellow card with five minutes to go, Nigel Adkins’ side managed to hold on to what they had and come away with a valuable draw.

Carl Baker gave the Iron the lead with a free-kick in the 35th minute before Clarke was brought down in the box and levelled the match with the resulting penalty just before half time.

Clarke’s 10th goal in 12 games gave the Iron the lead in the 76th minute and United held on, eventually going on to earn promotion in the play-offs by defeating Millwall at Wembley that season.

However, Kevin Thornton equalised from the penalty spot mid-way through the first half but a superb strike from Jack Cork in the 66th minute saw the Iron come away with a big victory.
