CLARK ANNOUNCED AS OLDHAM REFEREE

25 September 2014

Richard Clark will be the man in black for the Iron’s clash away at Oldham at the weekend.

The Northumberland-born referee has taken charge of six games so far this season, three in League Two, two in League One and the Capital One Cup clash between Leeds and Accrington.

So far he has sent off three players and dished out 21 yellow cards this season, averaging at almost four bookings per fixture.

Clark last officiated a Scunthorpe game in November 2013, taking charge of the 2-0 defeat to Accrington. He issued four bookings during the game, two of which went to Michael Collins and Sean McAllister.

He refereed 30 matches in total last campaign, with three appearances in the Championship and the rest coming in League One and Two. 102 yellow cards were dished out by Clark in the 2013/14 season, along with 12 red cards.

Clark made his official debut as a referee in 2009. He took charge of the Blue Square Premier fixture between York and Forest Green, issuing two bookings.

He will be joined by David Benton and Joe Clark for the Iron’s game against Oldham, with Alix Pashley as the fourth official.
