PREVIEW: GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY (A)

18 July 2014

United play their second game of pre-season on Saturday when they make the trip to Gainsborough Trinity.

The match at Trinity will be played at the Northolme Stadium, kicking-off at 3.00pm.

The Iron report no fresh injury worries going into the game, though David Mirfin looks likely to miss out.

The former Watford man has what manager Russ Wilcox has described as 'a little issue in his knee' and he was set to visit a specialist on Friday.

"Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious," Wilcox added, when speaking after Wednesday night's 3-1 win at Bottesford Town.

Terry Hawkridge also sat out that game with a knee problem but was only expected to be rested for a couple of days.

United used 24 players against Bottesford in midweek and Wilcox said the Iron would assess on Friday whether to use that approach again against Trinity.

Sam Winnall and Paddy Madden have already found their scoring boots this pre-season and will be looking to carry that on this weekend.

It is pay on the gate, and admission is £8 adults and £5 concessions.
