GETTING TO WORCESTER CITY

17 December 2014

United travel to Worcester City on Wednesday night to challenge the Vanarama Conference side for a place in the third round of this season’s FA Cup.

The first meeting last week saw Carl Heeley’s side come from behind to draw 1-1 at Glanford Park and they will be confident after extending their unbeaten run to 14 games.

The winner will have a home tie with Chesterfield in the following round, subject to an FA investigation.

The second round replay, which is live on BT Sport and being screened in the executive lounge at Glanford Park, is a 7.45pm kick-off and here is a low-down on Aggborough and how to get there.

Aggborough…
Worcester City play at Aggborough, also the home of Kidderminster Harriers.

City vacated their previous ground in 2013 after selling it to developers and they hope to have their own ground sorted in the near future.

A traditional set-up, Aggborough is a decent, well covered ground. It holds nearly 6,500 fans, nearly half of which can be seated.

Being a non-league club, you should not expect trouble. The nearby public houses mean it makes for a good atmosphere before kick-off and you can expect the home fans to back their team to get through to the next round of the competition.

Getting there…
Departing from Glanford Park, take the first exit at the roundabout by Tesco’s onto Doncaster Road, then continue to the next roundabout, taking the first exit again onto the M181, heading towards Humber Bridge/Doncaster/M180.

After two miles, keep right at the fork, following signs for Doncaster/M180 before merging onto the M180. Continue for just over 12 miles and take the exit onto the M18 towards the M1/Doncaster.

Continue for 20 miles and merge onto the M1.

Continue for nearly 42 miles and exit at junction 23A, towards M42/Tamworth/Birmingham, keeping right to continue on the M42, following signs for Tamworth/Birmingham before taking the M6 (N) exit towards B’ham (central, E, N & W), merging onto the M6.

Keep ahead for ten miles and exit at junction eight, taking the M5 exit onto B’ham (W & S)/West Bromwich. Continue onto the M5 after around 1.5 miles and stay on for seven miles until junction three, taking the A456 exit to Kidderminster.

At the forthcoming roundabout, take the third exit onto the A456, taking the second exit to stay on the A456 at the next roundabout and the first exit onto the A456 at the proceeding one. Keep following the A456 until the roundabout where you can take the first exit onto the Ringway/A451. At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto the A448 and after nearly 400ft, turn right onto Hoo Rd and the third left onto Stadium Close, with the ground situated on your left.
