Andy Davies has been appointed as referee for this weekend’s clash with Walsall.

Born in Hampshire, Davies is now in his third season as a Football League official after starting at the beginning of the 2012/2013 season and will be making his first visit to Glanford Park as an official on Saturday.

His last match was Northampton’s 1-0 victory over Mansfield in League Two on 9th August and the only time he has taken charge of an Iron game so far in his career was the 1-0 defeat at Tranmere back in December 2012.

So far this season, he has handed out eight yellow cards over three games. Last season, he handed out 111 yellows and four reds in 28 games across all three divisions of the League pyramid.

He will be assisted by Matthew Donohue and Ben Toner, whilst Matt McGrath will act as Fourth Official.
