PREVIEW: BURY (H)

11 April 2014

Saturday’s game at Glanford Park sees the Iron take on a Bury side who are chasing the League Two play-offs in 11th.

The Shakers have won their last three matches and are just seven points short of York, who occupy the final play-off spot, while United are looking to move one step closer to automatic promotion.

There has been 49 meetings between the two sides in total, and Bury have the better head-to-head record with 21 wins to Scunthorpe’s 16, while the other 12 finished level.

Team News: Scunthorpe United...

Deon Burton should be available after coming on in the 1-0 win at Torquay last weekend.

However, midfielder Sean McAllister looks set to miss out through a rib injury, as does Gary McSheffrey (hamstring). Manager Russ Wilcox will also be without James Alabi, who has returned to parent club Stoke City.

Last line-up: Slocombe, Nolan, Mirfin, Canavan, Williams, Sparrow, Hayes, Collins, Syers, Madden Winnall.

Team News: Bury...

Shakers defender Frederic Veseli has returned to Ipswich Town following his loan spell, while Tommy Miller (thigh) looks set to remain on the sidelines.

Phil Picken has suffered a setback on his return from a knee injury, so either Craig Jones or Chris Sedgwick look set to fill in at right-back.

Those aside, Bury boss David Flitcroft has no other concerns ahead of the trip to Glanford Park.

Last line-up: Jensen, Jones, Hussey, McNulty, Mills, Veseli, Sedgwick, Tutte, Hope, Nardiello, Mayor.
