Scunthorpe United trio James Moody, Glyn Sparks and Jake Pullan are preparing to swap the Attis Arena for the trails this June as they take on the gruelling Peak District Challenge 2026; all in support of the incredible work carried out by Lindsey Lodge Hospice in collaboration with Lost Earth Adventures.

The challenge will see the three Iron employees and supporters push themselves through miles of demanding Peak District terrain, tackling steep climbs, rugged trails and long hours on foot in a true test of endurance, determination and teamwork. This challenge is set in the beautiful vicinity near Leek in the Peak District. It consists of a canoe across Tittesworth Reservoir, followed by an 100ft abseil, followed by a 22km hike.

But for James, Glyn and Jake, this challenge is about far more than crossing a finish line. Every step they take will help raise vital funds for Lindsey Lodge Hospice, a charity that provides compassionate care and support to local people and families facing life-limiting illnesses. The hospice has touched countless lives across North Lincolnshire, offering comfort, dignity and support when it matters most.

Inspired by the incredible work carried out by the hospice staff and volunteers every single day, and with first hand experience of what the hospice offers following care for their family members, the trio wanted to take on a challenge that would truly push them beyond their limits while giving something meaningful back to the local community.

Working alongside Lost Earth Adventures, the group will embark on one of the UK’s toughest endurance events, with months of preparation, training walks and fundraising already underway ahead of the June 2026 event.

The three fundraisers are hoping the Scunthorpe United community, local businesses and supporters across the region can rally behind them and help make a real difference for Lindsey Lodge Hospice.

Whether it’s through donations, sponsorship or simply sharing their journey, every bit of support will help the hospice continue delivering its vital services to families across the area. Each participant is tasked with raising at least £250 each ahead of the event, with a minimum target of £750 for the three taking part.

As the countdown to the Peak District Challenge begins, James, Glyn and Jake are ready to dig deep, represent the spirit of Scunthorpe United supporters and raise as much money as possible for a cause close to so many hearts.

Together, they hope to prove that with community spirit, determination and support, even the toughest climbs can be conquered.
