Scunthorpe United can confirm the departure of forward Carlton Ubaezuonu, who joins King’s Lynn Town for an undisclosed fee.
Joining the Iron ahead of the 2024-25 season from then-fellow National League North side Chorley FC, Ubaezuonu became the first signing of the Andy Butler era, having previously played with the gaffer at Farsley Celtic.
After a difficult start to his first season for the Irishman, Ubaezuonu would score his first goal in claret and blue against Scarborough Athletic in the February of 2025, going onto score a further eight goals in the remainder of the season, including his infamous Promotion Final strike that secured Scunthorpe promotion back to the National League, that will etch his name into the club’s folklore forevermore.
So far this campaign, the forward has struggled to establish regular starting minutes, although still managing to make his impact by scoring six goals in 36 appearances across all competitions. Now, Ubaezuonu joins the Linnets, looking to help complete their survival mission and rediscover his sensational scoring form from the tail end of last season.
Thank you for everything, Carlton, and all the best for the future!
