Alfie Beestin

The former Doncaster Rovers player made 50 appearances for them in all competitions between 2016 and 2019, scoring three goals.

This included a strike against Scunthorpe in League One during a 1-1 draw in January 2018.

The 27-year-old has also previously been out on loan at Chesterfield, and has this season been playing for Tadcaster Albion, who he began his career with before joining Rovers.

He made four appearances as a substitute for United's first team before the 2019-20 season was curtailed by COVID-19.

During 2020-21, he appeared 42 times and scored five times for the Iron, while the following campaign saw a further 41 appearances and one goal.

In 2022-23, Beestin made 32 league appearances for the Iron, scoring one goal in the 1-1 away draw at Torquay United.

After a season plagued with injury's in the 2023-24 campaign, Beestin has found himself playing as a striker under Manager Andy Butler and has shocked supporters with his match winning performances. This form would continue throughout the season with Beestin amassing his best goalscoring campaign in his career by finishing with a tally of 8 goals and 4 assists to his name. This impressive form would help power Scunthorpe to promotion, hence earning himself a further two year contract extension with the club.
