The Iron are back in action on the road, preparing for a huge fixture in the play-off race
against Halifax Town. Last time out, Scunthorpe rescued a point at home against league
leaders Rochdale, coming back from a 2-0 deficit. Luke Hannant and Aidan Barlow netted
for the visitors before Cal Roberts got one back with half an hour to play. Alfie Beestin
netted a late point in the 87th minute to maintain United’s unbeaten run.

In the reverse fixture back in August, the match ended in a 1-1 draw as no side could take all
three points at the Attis Arena. A Branden Horton first half red card left the Iron playing with ten
men for the second 45, but did not stop Cal Roberts firing Scunthorpe into the lead in the 52nd
minute. The visitors quickly got level just four minutes after the opener, and the match ended
honours even.

Halifax are sitting in eighth place, level on points with Southend in the final play off spot, behind
on just goal difference. Town are looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at home to Carlisle,
which ended a run of five matches unbeaten with three consecutive wins.

A couple of key attackers that could hurt the Iron on Saturday are, Will Harris and Josh Hmami.
Ex-Iron loanee, Harris has bagged 25 goals this season (20 league goals), for The Shaymen
and assisted three goals, and has been an integral member of the Halifax side this season.
Hmami has bagged 16 goals this season (12 league goals) and assisted five goals for the hosts.
Andy Butler’s side know three points would push them closer to finishing inside the top seven,
whereas Halifax have their sites set on sneaking into the play off spots, as they stay hot on the
tails of Southend.
