The Iron are back in action on the road after a tough home defeat against Boston United
where they lost 6-3, they face Rochdale, who sit second in the table level on points with
first place York City.

The hosts have had a great season so far as they push for promotion back into the EFL, and
are unbeaten in their last eight league fixtures, with seven wins and one draw, most recently
drawing 1-1 away at Yeovil. Rochdale will be looking to get back to winning ways with a chance
of claiming top spot on the line today. There are a couple of Dale attackers who could hurt the
Iron.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe and Devante Rodney are both players for Scunthorpe’s backline to
watch out for. Dieseruvwe is Rochdale’s top scorer and main goal threat with 16 goals and five
assists from 24 league appearances this season. The 30 year old Englishman failed to get on
the scoresheet against Yeovil Town but assisted their only goal of the match and put on a sharp
display against Forest Green Rovers as he bagged a brace in a 2-1 victory, in the Dale’s last
win. Rodney has also shown his attacking abilities this season with 11 goal involvements from
27 league appearances bagging six goals and assisting five this season, together Rodney and
Dieseruvwe can decide games of football with their quality, and will be looking to get Rochdale
into top spot.

In a clash that could put Rochdale top of the league with a game in hand, if they get any result
other than a loss, and a day where Scunthorpe could over take Boreham Wood and close the
gap with Carlisle to just three points, this is a game both sets of players will be desperate to win.
Andy Butler’s side will be hoping a victory could reinspire some positive form.
