Scunthorpe United is right behind Iron supporter Richard Padwell, who is completing the Yeovil 836 - 'The Power of Three' challenge ahead of our game at Huish Park.

The Iron take on the Glovers on Saturday, March 7th, with Richard's journey commencing a day earlier at 6am, as he intends to cycle from the Attis Arena to Yeovil's home, arriving at the ground at 9am on matchday.

But that's just the midway point! After watching the game, Richard will begin the return leg on Sunday morning at 6am, returning to the Iron's home by 9am on Monday, March 9th. In completing this challenge, he will have travelled 836km (520miles).

Speaking about the challenge, Richard said: "I'm 42 and passionate about Scunthorpe United and cycling. I have experienced ill mental health on and off since the age of 14.

"Two things I have found helpful to manage my mental health have been watching the Iron (I don't rely on results for mood regulation!) in terms of having a focus and escape, and cycling, which has helped in every possible way.

"I started watching Scunthorpe United when I was 8 years old and got the bug from this point. I've been through the highs of the Championship to the depths of despair as we all did when we nearly lost our club a couple of years ago.

"With 'The Power of Three' (SUFC, cycling and positive mental health), I aim to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind, by completing 'Yeovil 836'."

Supporters will be able to follow the journey on Richard's Instagram account, @TheIronCyclist, while the club will also be avidly following his progression.

Donations via Richard's fundraiser to Mind will be gratefully received, with the donation link found by clicking here.
