Scunthorpe United can confirm the recall of midfielder Kian Scales from his loan spell with National League North side Radcliffe FC.

Joining the Iron in the summer of 2023, following his release from boyhood club Bradford City, Scales would arrive ahead of the Iron's first National League North campaign, immediately taking the division by storm and impressing supporters with his tireless performances and incredible work rate. The midfielder would go on to repeat that feat in United's 2024-25 promotion-winning campaign, featuring 47 times across the course of the season.

Originally joining the Boro on a month's loan in January, in order for him to find more regular game time, Scales became an instant fan favourite amongst the Radcliffe faithful, applying his endless energy in the middle of the park, with a man-of-the-match performance against Spennymoor Town and a stunning solo strike against Chorley to stamp his place in the team.

After extending the loan until the end of the season in February, with Radcliffe still well in the play-off hunt, Scales would go on to make 19 appearances for the Boro, although a sudden drop off in form for Bernard Morley's side has seen their hopes of a play-off dismissed. Now, Scales returns to the Iron, looking to aid his parent club's promotion aspirations, providing much-needed reinforcements with his versatility.

Welcome back, Kian!
