Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Zain Westbrooke on an initial three-month loan deal from Doncaster Rovers. 

A versatile option to add to the Iron’s ranks, Westbrooke started his career in the Chelsea youth academy before penning his first professional deal with then Championship side Brentford. After seven years with the Bees, the now 28-year-old would enjoy loan spells with Solihull Moors and Leyton Orient before making a permanent move to Coventry City.

During his two-year stint with the Sky Blues, Westbrooke made over 40 appearances in League One and played his part in the Sky Blues gaining promotion to the Championship with 10 goal contributions in their 2019-20 title winning season.

In the summer of 2020, the midfielder would make the switch to League One side Bristol Rovers for who he would become a consistent starter surpassing 50 appearances for the club before being shipped out on loan to Stevenage at the back end of the 2021-22 campaign.

With the Gas promoted back to League One, Westbrooke would make the permanent switch to Doncaster in 2022 with hopes of playing consistent minutes, which he would go on to do featuring 53 times for Rovers under the stewardship of Grant McCann.
